One might initially think a ‘clock museum?’, which is what I thought, but I thought I better humour Ted as he was excited to go ..
OMG, for a structure that is essentially 2 big rooms, that houses over 1400 time pieces from Mr. Archibald Clapham estate/collection, it was stunning. The chap who worked there was so informative and trust me - we had a lot of questions.
However, the big discovery was the ‘Hickory Dickery Dock’ clock as Ted step mother Pat owned one and we have seen it in her Dublin, NH home many times over the years. The guide was impressed to hear that and we just monopolized his time. For what I thought would a be quick pop in and get out turned into a 2 hour information session - it really was so fun and fascination.
Check out the largest sun dial (on the front lawn) in the Southern Hemisphere. It is also the only one to show the #7 due to the longer days they have here in NZ.
It was a great tour and then back to the Holiday Top Ten for presecco - we earned it!
