The last couple of days we were in Whangarei and the weather could not have been better. We went to the Whangarei Falls, toured the downtown (did some shopping - to Ted’s dismay - as it is Christmas time and the stores/mall were pretty busy), went to the clock museum - (more on that later) and Hundertwasser Art Centre (see funky building photos). A great spot on the waterfront, which was created by an Austrian artist who moved to Whangarei and spend the remaining 20-30 years of his life, but building this stunning (interesting) gallery that is just had not to notice and appreciate.
And have no fear - we did a lot of walking still, though Ted was crushed that his snorkeling trip was cancelled a 2nd time - after driving 30 minutes to the starting point this morning … I guess it was not meant to be and I promised there will be other times to snorkel while we are here …
