Murals abound in Dunedin

We arrived in Dunedin, or rather the suburb of St. Clair, and were pleasantly surprised. Our apartment was located in this super trendy area, in a 19th century mansion that was converted into multiple units (with original mouldings, windows, etc.) and was a block from the beach - which was clearly a surfers hangout. AND, to our amazement there was a salt water pool less than a 1km walk down the boardwalk along this same beach - so, it was pretty sweet and we were there multiple times each day.


After we checked in, scoped out the place, and walked the boardwalk, we headed into downtown Dunedin to do the self-guided Mural walk - which we ultimately loved. There was an international competition and the winning artists were selected to paint their works all over the downtown CBD. It was really fun walking around for 2 + hours trying to find them with our ‘not to scale’ map … Here are just a few for you to see …
