I believe some of you already know this, but for all of you who are following our blog, you may not be aware …

Ted surprised me last weekend with a trip to Queen Charlotte Sound and specifically Punga Cove - to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our 1st day and 16th anniversary of his proposal to me :-)

I will say to get there was a bit of a choir; 2 hour drive, with a hellish snakelike road that runs about 40kms and the speed is 25kms (that will give you an idea of how crazy curves the highway is), then what we were told would be a 1 hr boat ride to the resort.

When we checked in I pointed to this BIG boat and asked if that was the boat we were taking to Punga Cove, to which the girl responded ‘Oh, no, the smaller one over there’. When I said that I was not good on boats she reassured me the smaller ones were safer. Wait - did she say safer????

Well, I will say the water was calm and I was able to contain my anxiety - at least until the first hour passed and at one point I said to Ted ‘do you want to ask the skipper if he forgot our stop’, as we had been on the boat now almost 2 hours. No, he did not forget us, he just had to make some extra stops ….

We did finally arrive, checked in, and WOW - our room was amazing, the view exceptional, the resort all nestled into the forest with everyone having their own cabin. It was sublime.

We chilled, kayaked, hiked, and had fantastic meals … there were stingrays literally at the shore line (check out the photo - I am less than 2 feet away). We rested in the hot tub and even ducked into the pool. It was great and the 2 nights were heaven - all thanks to Teddy! An anniversary I will certainly remember :-)

Cheers from Robert and Ted
